Balkan Mountains Photo Tour takes place in the mountain range running eastward across Bulgaria.  Basically, the mountains are forming a natural barrier between the northern and southern parts of the country. Finally they are reaching the Black Sea.

There are several protected areas and nature reserves. These place are also remarkable for their flora, fauna and stunning views.

Balkan Mountains are rich of caves like Magura and Ledenika, river gorges like Iskar Gorge and rock formations like Belogradchik Rocks. Furthermore, this nature wonders are surrounded by ancient beech and pine forests, beautiful waterfalls and pleasant valleys.

This will be the destination for our nature and cultural photography tour.

Balkan Mountains are worth visiting throughout the year, especially during the transition seasons. They are characterized with vibrant colors and dynamic weather.

During Spring season best time to visit is from the beginning of May till end of June. Then nature is blooming and weather conditions could be dramatic! In the beginning of June the Rose festivals takes place. This is a vibrant and colorful event, combined with rose picking and rose oil destilery rituals, traditional Bulgarian dances and many more.

The best time for Autumn foliage photos is from the beginning of October till early November.  Then morning mists are frequent and tree’s colors are exploding!
